Four American swimmers, including the six-time gold medalist Ryan Lochte, were held up at gunpoint early Sunday morning, as per the United States Olympic Committee.
The other United States swimmers burglarized, by explanation from the board, were Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger and Jimmy Feigen.
"Their taxi was halted by people acting like equipped cops who requested the competitors' cash and other individual possessions," a representative for the United States Olympic Committee said. "Each of the four competitors are sheltered and participating with powers."
Lochte told NBC: "The person hauled out his firearm, he positioned it, put it to my temple, and he said, 'Get down.'"
