US Swimmer Fought With Security Guard on Night of Alleged Robbery: Police Source




As the police examination proceeds into the affirmed theft of four U.S. Olympic swimmers in Rio, a Brazilian police source told ABC News that "one of the swimmers was seen on CCTV footage separating the way to the restroom at the service station and battling with a security watch" on the night of the occurrence.

Police told ABC News that the swimmers "offered 100 reals and $20" to make up for the harm.

Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte asserted on Sunday that he and three different U.S. swimmers were ransacked in a taxi early that morning set out toward the Olympic Village in Rio.

Lochte told NBC News' Matt Lauer Wednesday night that the swimmers utilized a restroom at a service station and when they returned to their taxi, the driver didn't move. That is when two men drew closer with firearms and identifications and instructed them to get out and get down, Lochte said.

While Lochte came back to the U.S. Wednesday, the three different swimmers, Jack Conger, Gunnar Bentz and James Feigen, stay in Brazil.

Joined States Olympic Committee representative Patrick Sandusky said Conger and Bentz were confined Wednesday night "right away before their flight was planned to withdraw from Rio."

"They were discharged by neighborhood powers with the understanding that they would proceed with their dialogs about the occurrence," he said.

Sandusky said Lochte's partners "are collaborating with powers and during the time spent booking a period and place today to give further articulations to the Brazilian powers."

"All are spoken to by guidance and being fittingly upheld by the USOC and the U.S. Office in Rio," he included.
